Lucky to Smile

by : EnnaDa- Kiruthika Thusyanthan

A single second of serenity
The chance I got to smile
already my life’s worthy of living for awhile
I’ve smelled roses and jasmine, all kinds of flowers

As long as you hold on to your dream, You still have everything.

By Editor - May 20th, 2010

As long as you hold on to your dream, You still have everything.

when I did not have legs to run
I had hands that could reach
when my arms could not reach
I got around on my feet
when my mouth could not speak
I had eyes that could see
when my eyes could not see
I had a throat that could scream
when my heart failed to beat
with my veins left to bleed

Will They Ever Have A 'Happy' Mother's day?

by : EnnaDa- Kiruthika Thusyanthan
Will They have a mothers day?
the mothers of my country who’ve lost their children before their eyes
witnessed the torture and rape of their daughters
the suffering of their sons
the brutal murders of their husband…a HAPPY mother’s day? will they ever have one?
the mothers who heard “amma..? ” echo in their heads, when her child came home from school..
the mothers who heard “ iyoo ammmaaa!!!!!!!” scream through her head, while they dragged away her daughter by the hair

It Happened. And it Ended Me at 6years Old. [ A Story ]

by : EnnaDa- Kiruthika Thusyanthan

I’ve been here for days,
I was told to stay here, I was ordered to climb inside this ditch and stay here
but nobody came to tell me to come out…
and so I’ve been here for days.
I saw it all happen, the helicopters that flew above us

Story of My Life

Story of My Life

The story of my Life

She was stuck in the passages of time

With every step she could not help but be in doubt

She finds herself caught

Struggling to keep her head above the water

It seemed as though every force known to mankind was at work

Black Tiger

Black Tiger

not until I’ve run out of air
not until I’ve run out of blood
not until my bones disintegrate
not until my flesh dissolves
not until my eyes go blind

The Destruction of peace

By Editor - March 29th, 2010

The Destruction of peace

Choirs melodically through bleeding ears
Eyes strain open as each blink burns as though in flames
Fingers dig into dirt, palms ripping against sharp stones
Torn flesh sizzles beneath scorching sun
Very much alive, yet dying inside

The richest soil is drenched in blood

By Editor - March 23rd, 2010

The richest soil is drenched in blood

The richest soil is drenched in blood
with ones smile, comes anothers tears
Look into a baby’s eyes,
wide, curious, innocent, yearning for love and care
wide, curious, innocent, yearning for love and care
A child who has done no wrong,
