Youth Forward: Aena Poologarajah runs for City Youth Council!

Written By:Aena Poologarajah

The City Youth Council of Toronto is an organization focused on encouraging the youth of Toronto to become more involved in the municipal government. The youth council will consist of an elected youth councilor from each of the 44 wards in Toronto. These Councillors represent the youth in their ward, and vote on their behalf on issues that concern the youth as a whole. This allows us to have a voice and say in what happens in the city. This organization helps to develop a sense of purpose, and informs people about what’s happening in their city. It shows us youth, how important we actually are.

The youth councilors are between the ages 14 and 22, and are elected by their peers. Voting takes place online, and it ends on the 21st of October (which is tomorrow!). Any one between the ages of 14 and 24 can vote.
I, Aena Poologarajah am running for the youth councilor position in Ward 1. I am very interested in serving the youth as their councilor. I am very people friendly, patient and approachable, which I believe would allow me to be the best youth councilor.

The competition in my ward is very tough, and I need as much support as I can get! Please vote for me, Aena Poologarajah for Ward 1, with this link : www.cycto.ca

It will ask you to put in a couple of pieces of information, such as your full name, your email and your address . No worries, your information will not be publicized. It will ask you to vote for your second choice, because it is a preferential ballot system. This system will only work with three people, and we only have two candidates including myself. So, please vote me as your second choice!

It would also be great if you liked my facebook page :www.facebook.com/aenaforward1

THANKS A BUNCHES GUYS! Remember, voting ends tomorrow at 11:59 pm. Please vote before then, and get your friends and family to do so as well. I really need the support and it’s most definitely much appreciated. Thanks again.
