THAALAM 2017: THE ULTIMATE GAANA COMPETITION

On behalf of the Government of Ontario, I am delighted to extend warm greetings to everyone attending Thaalam 2017: The Ultimate Gaana Competition, hosted by the Arts & Culture Council of the Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance.
This energetic program of dance and music is a wonderful way to promote the vibrancy of Tamil culture and celebrate its contributions to Ontario’s diversity. Talented young people are provided with a platform to present their talents and enthusiasm for dance through a program filled with the passionate and rhythmic sounds of Gaana, which is unique to South India.
I commend the Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance for organizing this annual performance. In addition to providing a highly entertaining show, you nurture the potential of young people in our community.
