A 22 years old male diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is currently looking for a bone-marrow donor. For confidentiality reasons, no identifying information is exchanged between donor and recipient for at least a year, therefore, further details of the recipient are not provided. Anyone from a South Asian descent who is between 17-50 years old and in generally good health is asked to get a swab test done to identify if they are the right match. A person’s best chance of finding a matching donor is within his or her own ethnic group.
There will be two drives happening both on Saturday March 31st from 11am – 5pm. One in Splendid China Mall at 4675 Steeles Avenue and second drive will be held at Agincourt Mall, 3850 Sheppard Avenue East.
