Daylight Saving Time – Set your clocks ahead one hour!

It’s that time of year again. Yes, the dreaded “Spring Forward” Don’t forget that at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 11, it’s time to set your clocks ahead one hour for Daylight Saving Time – you’ll lose one hour of precious sleep, but you’ll trade it for an hour of extra sunlight!

Daylight Savings Time originated in 1784 and Benjamin Franklin is credited with the idea – he thought that by changing the time to allow for more sunlight, citizens would save money on candles. However, Daylight Savings Time wasn’t actually implemented until many years later in 1916, when Germany and Britian brought it in as a way of conserving energy during World War I.

Make sure that you get an hour of sleep! Many drivers report being sleepy and less alert following “Spring Forward”.

Remember, set your clocks forward one hour at 2 a.m. (so it’s 3 a.m.)!
Happy Daylight Savings!
