Navarathiri Concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday September 30th, 2011 at the York Woods Library Theatre. (1785 Finch ve. W). Talented Tamil youth, Saibruntha Arunthavashanmuganathan will be performing the vocal performances. Details of the program are below.
Saibruntha Arunthavashanmuganathan is a carnatic musician and singer who has been singing for many years, and has performed in not only Canada, but also in South India during the internationally known music season in December. She had the privilege and the honor of learning under her guru Smt. Geetha Rajasekar, a disciple of the legendary D K Pattamal. Saibruntha is now the director and teacher of Madhura Geetham School of Music. Sai Bruntha is also last year’s CTYA’s Top Talents Classical Music awards recipient. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts at York University, majoring in Kinesiology.
