we reveal the truth
and you ignore it
its all up in your face
but you choose not to see it
pluck your eyes out of their sockets
for you dont deserve to see the world’s colours
you walk blinded in blankness
oh the luxury of ignorance
bare witness to hungry children
dry blood feeding at the pit of their stomaches
how full you must be.
does the preventable death of your loved ones not burn
your blood cells to explosion
dont you realize that you’re living,
an unrealistic fairytale illusion
romance action dramatic confusions
there are more seeds in your soil waiting to bloom
water tanks leave you unthirsty, filters plugged into your sinks
but the system you’re trapped in ain’t as clean as your drinks
turn on the news, another bombs fallen
it aint on your own house, so you don’t care
take a look at the people around you
we’ve all evolved from a past unshared
your minds are filtered just like your water
by the same people who only take your belongings away
knowledge belongs to you, so educate
learn to think for yourself before its too late
once they have you seduced in their shiney media
you’re just a tool another stepping stone
helping THEM take over YOUR world and homes.
chandeliers hang from their ceilings,
while broken limbs hang from our trees
scuba diving, hotels and spas for the tourists
while our people starve waiting for death
Nobody wants to put up a hand and say stop this aint right
you’d just rather walk by and get on with your life, since this aint your war to fight
so you block everything you know, keep it far from your sight
and maybe you will one day rest in peace forever at ease
because “ignorance” has brought you the greatest bliss
but with it, LIFE you will miss
a humane feeling slips
sympathy & empathy are gifts, to feel and live anothers pains and gains
standing through their sunshines and rains
but throw away this gift as you please and turn your heads away and walk
and continue to live beneath your rock
but just remember, the world don’t stop
Without hate, how would you know Love
Without loss, what would there be to win
Without Death, what does it mean to Live
Without Grief, why would it be necessary to fight for happiness
And with being blissfully ignorant, what exactly is Life?
