A message from CASSA (Council of Agencies Serving South Asians)
Dear friends:
CASSA (Council of Agencies Serving South Asians) has created four internship opportunities for current post secondary students and recent graduates to help them get “a foot in the door” when it comes to job search in the fields of social services, policy, community development and research. This internship project is being created to assist individuals in gaining valuable experience, skills and networks as well as to give them the opportunities to help build the infrastructure of CASSA to do social and economic justice work in the Province of Ontario.
The four positions open for internship are for the following roles:
– developing an outreach strategy for CASSA
– coordinating efforts for social planning in the GTA
– documentation and evaluation of projects and activities of CASSA’s 2010 activities
– coordinating the efforts related to South Asian Heritage Month May 2011
If you are interested in taking on a 75 to 150 hour internship (number of hours may differ based on the internship duties and the availability of the student), please email your resume by November 22nd, 2010 to hr@cassa.on.ca
These are unpaid/volunteer internship but there will be an honourarium paid at the completion of the internship duties. The internship period is from December 1st until March 27th, as needed (but interns can choose to complete it in a shorter period). The number of hours per week also can be negotiated based on the your availability. During the internship, the interns will be coached and mentored by CASSA’s existing staff and will be provided informal and formal training opportunities. A certificate of recognition also will be presented to interns who complete their internship successfully.
