Education and Career Development Council’s Robotics Competition Recap

The Education and Career Development Council of Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance, along with alumni engineering students launched a Robotics Competition at Tamil Kids Day at Markham Fairgrounds. The competition included youth between grades 4 to 8which have been training weeks prior to the competition. The youth eagerly and excitedly participated; as they watched the robots they built clear mines as well as race to win first place. After 3 intense rounds, the participants as well as the crowd were eagerly anticipating who the winners were going to be.

“We are very happy to have youth helping youth programs that allow alumni to interact and use their skills to help out our next generation. We want to continue to develop these programs to broaden the horizons for individuals, and allow for people to look into different career paths,” commented Jenny Sellathurai, Education and Career Development Council Director.

The Education and Career Development council looks forward to establishing more youth helping youth programs, and will continue to create resources that can provide youth with relavant learning experiences.
