This past weekend, on Saturday January 22nd and Sunday January 23rd, CTYA held its Canadian Tamil Film Festival (CTFF). Screenings of short films were conducted on Saturday, and awards were presented in various categories to recognize and encourage these talented youth filmmakers. Many people came out to show their support for our young Canadian Tamil filmmakers.
We would like to thank all those who submitted their films, the volunteers and CTYA Board members who put together this event, our photographers Gana Arumugam and Arul Mahalingam, and a special thanks to our generous sponsors Cableshoppe, Rainbow Awards Promoters and Graphicland. Together, this event was made a success.
In order to further encourage young filmmakers, and recognize outstanding talent, awards were presented in various categories.
The winning films were as follows:

2. BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY: Wind
3. BEST EDITING: Poochedi
4. BEST DIRECTION: Nanri Amma
5. REFLECTIVE DOCUMENTARY: Remembering 6 Years
6. YOUTH RECOGNITION AWARD: Rocks Unturned, Words Unspoken
7. AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD: Magan
8. HONORARY SHORT FILM AWARD: Vanni Mouse
9. BEST MUSIC VIDEO: The Final Chapter
10. BEST SHORT FILM: Erithazhal Paravaikal
