Six essential ingredients for happiness!

Gratitude – You need to always be thankful for the good things that come your way. Being appreciative of the good things that happen will make you a happier person. If someone does something thoughtful for you, thank them, even if it’s opening a door for you.

Optimism – The glass should be viewed as being half full, not half empty. The more positive thoughts you have, the more likely positivity will be attracted your way. Negatively only will attract more negativity. Setting goals will help you be optimistic of your future, so set some now! Everything is in the way you see things, remember, “There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who transform a yellow spot into sun.” It’s about perspective.

Forgive – I found that the more I hold on to resentment and anger, the more bitter I become. But, when I was able to let go of a particular resentment, it made me feel better. When you hold on to the anger, it’s you who suffers, not whoever caused the anger.

Humour – Who doesn’t enjoy a good joke/laugh? Laughter is good medicine, and taking breaks to enjoy life, play and have fun with family and friends is what keeps us going.

Open-mindedness – If you think inside the box, your options will always limited, but if you keep an open mind, you will be able to better the opportunities that come your way.

Enthusiasm – When you are enthusiastic and passionate about something, it is all the most enjoyable; having an enthusiasm for living will help you get through the groggy days of life.
