The next Robotics Competition is just around the corner!

Do you have an interest in robotics or in the field of engineering? Do you want to compete with other teams and showcase your creativity, ingenuity, and leadership skills? Well here is your chance! The Education and Career Development Council of the Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance is proud to bring you an exciting and challenging Robotics Competition for students in Grades 4 to 8. The competition will take place at the end of April but team sign-ups will begin at Katka Kasadara – Education Expo. Teams of 3 to 4 students can sign-up at the Robotics Competition booth at the Expo.

By signing up for the competition, you and your team will be trained to build and program robots and later compete for a grand prize. You will learn the basic principles behind robotics, and also learn to apply them to solve every day engineering problems. Apart from the technical skills, teams will learn skills such as higher-order thinking, problem solving, project planning, decision making and leadership skills. This is an opportunity to work with friends and other students to develop your critical thinking skills in a fast paced productive environment. Most of all this is an opportunity to have fun while you learn!

More information will be available at Katka Kasadara – Education Expo at Lester B. Pearson C.I. on January 28, 2012 from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
