Tamileelam Challenge Cup – Soccer 2012 Awards and Results!

The Athletics Council of Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance in partnership with Canadian Tamil Sports Association (CTSA) hosted the 4th Annual Tamileelam Challenge Cup on Saturday September 1st 2012. This was definitely a day that you did not want to miss! The event was highly anticipated and the teams were met with an overwhelming amount of support from fans. All teams were excited to be able to finally showcase their talent and hard work in an effort to win the title as champions.

CTYA would like to congratulate all the participating teams on being part of one of the most awaited soccer tournaments of 2012. We would also like to recognize and congratulate the 2012 Tamileelam Challenge Cup Champions E.N.A. Football Club!

All teams played extremely well and the games were an absolute thrill to watch. There was no question that these teams had been preparing and spending their time to build their skills and teams. It became instantly clear that when hard work and talent goes hand in hand, the result is most definitely remarkable. The crowd was captivated throughout the day and the games were so entertaining.

The under 16 tournament was exciting to watch as Rangers Football Club competed against Jarvis Football Club. A close match had led to Ranger Football Club come out shining and taking the Under 16 Tamileelam Challenge Cup home.The Men’s games were quite entertaining to watch. The E.N.A. Football Club had played against Jarvis Football Club and E.N.A. Football Club came out victorious.There was a lot of hype over the finals. All of the spectators were deeply engaged in the game and it was an intense match. Both teams were that much closer to being crowned the 2012 Tamileelam Challenge Cup winners, and they definitely put up a very tight game.

All teams displayed a great level of sportsmanship and their love for the sport was clear. The sense of teamwork and passion that was showcased throughout the day was a great inspiration and it is definitely one to be proud of. During the finals, both teams took the time to congratulate one another and they shared encouraging words. It was a great way to spend the long weekend and it leaves everyone looking forward to the next tournament.
