Tamil youth, Jannani Puvanendran, takes part in Forum For Young Canadians

Tamil youth, Jannani Puvanendran has been selected as part of 300 young Canadians to attend a national youth forum in Ottawa taking place this week from Feb. 26 to March 2 at Parliament Hill.

Jannani Puvanendran is a Grade 12 student attending Albert Campbell Collegiate Institute. She is the only TDSB student who has been selected to attend the forum. She hopes to study legal studies and politics in university. Jannani is has been involved in the community and has been engaged with politics through volunteering in electoral campaigns and being part of Model United Nations . Through attending the National Youth Forum, Jannani will have the unique opportunity to experience politics from a different perspective, and gain a deeper understanding of Canadian politics and governance.

Forum for Young Canadians allows 300 Canadian youth aged 15-19 to attend the conference each year. For over 35 years, this Forum for Young Canadians has aimed to deepen the understanding of youth in governance. Youth are chosen based on their academic performance, community involvement, leadership and an essay submission that highlights their interest within politics.
