The sixth anniversary of the Tsunami that swept away entire villages in South-Eastern Asian has approached. On December 26th, 2004 the tsunami which took place in the Indian Ocean has been marked as one of the biggest disasters of human history. The aftermath of this 9.0 magnitude earth quake caused thousands of deaths and displacements. Not only have lives been lost but many communities have been shattered. |

On Sunday December 19th, 2010, the Human Rights Advocacy Council of CTYA had the privilege of teaching students of Arivikam about Human Rights. Students from grades 7-10 were educated about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and other facets of human rights. Twenty students took part in the workshops and were inspired to learn more about human rights. |
