BBC correspondent Frances Harrison cited that anywhere from 400 to 3000 Tamils were killed in the events that occurred in Black July 1983.

Thaalam 2012: Heat or Thunder? And the winner is...

The results of the game between Miami Heat and OKC Thunder on Tuesday, June 19 were forecasted by the fans of Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) on Facebook. As part of Thaalam 2012, CTYA Fans were encouraged to predict the winner of the game on the CTYA Fan Page. The names of those correctly predicting the results were to be entered into a draw to win a complimentary ticket to Thaalam 2012. Arts and Culture Council will be presenting the winner with three complimentary movie tickets.

The youth who participated displayed their passion for dance and delivered phenomenal dance performances. Team spirit, hard work, and a lot of dedication was clear in their performances. Through this dance, these youth have proved themselves to be skilled and passionate dancers to the greater community. Congratulations to all the teams, dancers, coordinators and volunteers for putting on such a great show! The dedication and talent that our Tamil youth have continues to make us proud.
