Aadukalam 2011 – International Dance Competition
Unite through dance for global peace.
Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance is proud to announce that the champions of CTYA’s Thaalam 2011, York/Seneca Huskies, will be representing Canada at Aadukalam 2011, an International Dance Competition hosted by the Tamil Youth Network of Germany under the Global Tamil Youth League. Dance teams representing Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Norway, Switzerland and United Kingdom will be participating in this highly anticipated dance competition on Saturday, October 22, 2011 in Munich, Germany.
Aadukalam 2011, being an international dance competition, has captured the excitement of youth from across the globe. The youth dancers are all eager to take home the Aadukalam 2011 championship to their country.
This year, the Global Tamil Youth League has decided that all dance teams portray the theme ‘in pursuit of global peace’ in their respective dances. For second-generation Tamil youth around the world who have witnessed deprivations of peace in their parents lives, and all around the world, peace is a profound desire. As such, portraying the theme of global peace on an international stage will allow these youth to express their desire and need for peace in all countries around the world.
With international initiatives such as Aadukalam 2011, youth are able to network with other Tamil youth from various different countries. Through these relationships, it will be possible to collaborate in many more international initiatives in the future, to further recognize youth talents, as well as strengthen the unity of Tamils around the world.
When many individuals come together, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. That’s the power of unity. With many youth across the globe coming together, to not only express their talents, but to also voice for a global issue, we will definitely be able to reveal the true power of that unity.
