We have been chosen as one of the top 17 leaders across Canada. For the final phase of the challenge, my club is asking for the full support of our Tamil community. Remembrance Day – Lest We Forget

“Every year on November 11, Canadians pause in a silent moment of remembrance for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace. We honour those who fought for Canada in the First World War (1914-1918), the Second World War (1939-1945), and the Korean War (1950-1953), as well as those who have served since then. More than 1,500,000 Canadians have served our country in this way, and more than 100,000 have died. They gave their lives and their futures so that we may live in peace (Veterans Affairs Canada).

An inspiration of our own, Abicumaran Uthamacumaran

Abicumaran’s achievements at such a young age are truly inspiring to his fellow Tamil youth, and the science community on a whole. His hard-work, determination, commitment and passion for science and medicine has unquestionably contributed to his success. I hope, like him, other Tamil young really examine their passions, talents, and pursue their dreams. Abicumaran, really, has been an inspiration to us all, of what we can achieve.

We’re back!! Yes, that’s right! We’re back to see if you’re ready to rise up to the challenge once again! The Arts and Culture Council of Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) will be hosting its second annual Thaalam dance competition AND Canadian Tamil Film Festival (CTFF) in June 2012!!

In Remembrance of Niro (Nirojan Kaneswaralingam)

Nirojan Kaneswaralingam, a young Tamil youth tragically passed away this weekend in a car accident. Niro was currently attending York University, where he was pursuing his Licensed Registered Nurse designation. We hope that his family and friends are given the strength to overcome this difficult time, and will continue to seek comfort in their memories of Niro.
