Shattered

“Sashaaaaa!” the loud roar of some familiarity, awoke her. A frightened reaction had her clutching on to her mantle. She had been in the middle of a bad dream, and all that she remembered was the sight of a young girl, about her age, crying in a corner, all alone. The expression on the girls face seemed as if it was plastered on hers as she got herself out of bed.

Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland

went to work the other day, and everyone couldn’t stop talking about how they want to see Alice in Wonderland. (I don’t know if it was because of the childhood memories it brings back, the attraction to Wonderland, or the fact that Johnny Depp was playing Mad Hatter.) Regardless, I wanted to see it because of Wonderland. But there was one things so missing in this versus the book by Lewis Carroll, the obsession with time, the white rabbit and the obsession with time. I won’t ruin it for you, but some of the coolest characters from the book were cut out.

Foreign Students, or Domestic Students?

What do you think, should we allow more international students into university (who pay 3 times the tuition fees) to help offset costs for domestic students? I only compared undergraduate fees, but it gives you a sense of how different fees are. This doesn’t even take into account other rooming, food and basic costs. What’s you’re opinion?

Birth Order and Personality

Since a child, I always accused my parents of playing favourtism to my siblings, but I know I’m not the only one. How many of us have complained the baby in the family gets all the attention and gets the easy way, while the eldest is burden with the repsonsiblity of being mature and proper? Well, this interesting article looks at your relation between your birth order and personality. How much of this is true for you? First born? Middle Child? Last Born? Only Child?

I am not a believer in luck. But Lotto Max is $50 million.

I’m not a believer in luck, I believe in studying and hardwork. But, I do believe that Friday’s Jackpot, Lotto Max is $50 million. I will be playing the lottery, with that small chance and hope of winning. The only thing, instead of one person winning so much money, I hope many many people win parts of it, especially during a time where so many families are struggling to make ends meet.

Number of Ohio executions could set record

The death penalty, yes, a widely disagreed topic. This is the debate, whether capital death punishment is a good thing, or not. Before I tell you my opinion, let’s weigh the pros and cons. What do you think, is capital punishment a good harsh punishment, or is it too final?

White Feathers, A Symbol of Cowardice

Did you know that during World War I, an organization entitled, Order of the White Feather got men to enlist in the British Army by telling women to present men do did not enlist in the army with a white feather, that symbolized cowardice? Because it became shameful, and embarrassing not to enlist many men joined the army, and the government had a problem managing them all in the beginning.

Smart thieves: the dangers of GPS and Cellphones

While many of the forwards we get saying important information we end up deleting without even reading, one of these forwards I’ve received actually contained some useful information. A couple of weeks ago a friend told me that someone she knew had
their car broken into while they were at a football game. Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans. Things stolen from the car included a garage door remote control, some money and a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard.

Soap Operas (TV-Serials)

You watch them all the time, when they air, you’re glued to the television, for a good 45 minutes. Yes, soap operas, a guilty indulgence. As humans, I think we are not only concerned with our lives, but we are so interested in the lives of others, otherwise, reality shows and soap operas wouldn’t be so popular. I think I could have classified myself as a soap-addict before, but like all bad habits, I realized it was bad for my health and left me on the edge.
