A Great Canadian Invention

Inventions are great, they make our lives easier. I mean, without them, our life would just not be the same. But, today we’re not going to talk about the invention of light bulbs, or the telephone, we’re going to talk about another very important invention, one that was invented by a Canadian. The chocolate bar. Yes, the chocolate bar was invented by Canadian businessmen, Arthur Ganong and George Ensor. Chocolate was already found many centuries before, but it was these two Canadian friends who gave us the chocolate bar. The story goes that they both went on a fishing trip, and mixed chocolate with nuts in long pieces, and wrapped in a protective wrapper them up so they could take it along to a fishing trip. And, what a great idea it was. They then founded the Ganong candy factory, and began to sell the world’s first ever chocolate bar’s for 5 cents apiece (what a bargain that is today!). So, next time you buy a chocolate bar, remember where they came from.
