YUTSA’s Maveerar Naal Ceremony- Monday November 19, 2012

A message from YUTSA:

‎”November marks an important month in the hearts of Tamils all around the world. It is in this month that our first liberation fighter, Lieutenant Shankar, sacrificed his young life for the freedom of our homeland and our people. Since his ultimate sacrifice, many more thousands of martyrs have given their lives for the emancipation of Tamil Eelam. The month of November is a tribute to these martyrs, and their immense sacrifice in the ongoing fight to ensure that the Tamils live in peace, dignity and honour in Tamil Eelam.”

Although time has passed since the sacrifice of our first Maaveerar, the struggle still continues. The plight and struggle of our heroes is what shaped the path toward freedom, self determination and Tamil Eelam. The continuation of this struggle is in the hands of the youth, and it is our goal to make sure we do not leave the sacrifices and deaths of our martyrs to go unrecognized.

Join us, the York University Tamils Students Association in commemorating and remembering the sacrifices of our heroes on November 19th.

Although there has been many systematic changes in our struggle, our goals remains the same; one nation, one leader, one flag.”

Location and Time: FC 152 Founders ASSEMBLY HALL, 6pm-9pm.
