Canadian Tamil film festival to be held at civic centre
Young Tamil filmmakers from across the country are being encouraged to submit their work for a film festival that will have screenings in Markham.
The Arts and Culture Council of Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance will host the Canadian Tamil Film Festival Jan. 22 at the Markham Civic Centre.
Screenings run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Jan. 23, a special free screening of the crime drama 1999 will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The independent film, shot with a volunteer cast and crew, is set in Toronto.
The awards ceremony is at 6:15 p.m. Entrance fee of $10. The public is invited to attend the event in support of young Tamil artists.
