Tamil Classes offered through UTSG TSA Friday afternoons beginning on January 21, 2011

University of Toronto Tamil Students’ Association – St. George Campus

Dear Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance,

We would like to inform you that UTSG TSA will be hosting Tamil Classes in January!

As the years go by, the number of Tamil youth that are able to speak Tamil seems to be declining. In today’s circumstances and in such diverse environments, not everyone is given the opportunity to learn and practice the Tamil language. As a Tamil Students’ Association, it is our responsibility to take the initiative in preserving and promoting our culture and our language. If we do not take such action, who will? We cannot afford to lose our language; a language that has been praised and greatly valued for its richness and vast history.

UTSG TSA has decided to continue the tradition of holding Tamil classes as a service to our youth and our community in an effort to preserve our language and our culture.

We would greatly appreciate your help in promoting our Tamil classes by any means available to you and your organization. Our goal is to reach all university/college/high school students within the next week. The details of the classes are below:

Dates: Friday afternoons beginning on January 21, 2011

Location: Academy of Tamil Arts and Technology: 3150 Eglinton Avenue East, Scarborough ON (Markham and Eglinton)
