Immigrants have come to Canada thinking it is the land of opportunity, but once coming here, many of them realize that their foreign credentials are not recognized in Canada. They are instead forced to take up low-paying, temporary jobs that do not meet their skills. Training is difficult, and restrictions are in place that makes it much harder for foreign credentials to be recognized. (or example placing quotas on the number of immigrants allowed in certain professions, like Canada takes one foreign neuroscience doctor a year, ONE.) TRIEC in as organization that recognizes that diversity and immigrant inclusion in the Toronto labour market is actually good for business because it creates contacts, links, and may help tap into untapped markets. They created some advertisements that I thought were basic, and to the point out how keeping skilled immigrants in work unrelated to their professional experience, is actually a loss to the Canadian labour market.
