The Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) will be hosting its second annual Top Talents Awards Gala at Claireport Place Banquet and Convention Centre on September 18, 2011! Youth will be rewarded for surpassing expectations in the field of their interest and this gala enables a platform to showcase their talent. Not only will this acknowledgment encourage youth to thrive in their endeavors but it also generates an appreciation for the outstanding talents that exist in our community.
Academics is one of the areas awarded at Top Talents. It is the academics which structure our overall character, our judgments and our outlook on life. The Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance appreciates young academic achievers who persistently attempt to shape our community through the areas of Business Management, Liberal Arts, Medicine/Science, Engineering, Journalism and Tamil Language. CTYA recognizes and honors students who have achieved high academic goals through hard work and a dedication to learning.
The following criteria must be met in order to be eligible for the Academics Award:
· The individual must demonstrate perseverance, determination and passion for learning.
· Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution.
· Achieved personal success in the academic environment while utilizing the field of study for personal growth.
· Ability to participate in extracurricular activities at university/college while maintaining strong academic results.
All applicants will be required to submit an official copy of their Fall 2010 and Winter 2011 transcript.

The nomination deadline is August 15th, 2011 so submit your nomination package as soon as possible!
