Top Talents Awards 2011 – Soccer Award, Mr. Prasenna Kirupakaran.

On September 18, 2011, the Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) held its second annual Top Talents Awards Gala to showcase and reward youth with $500 bursaries who have excelled in their respective fields. Through this recognition CTYA aims to motivate youth to continue to do extremely well in their fields. Furthermore, these youth can serve as exceptional role models for the younger generations. In the next few days, we will be profiling the award winners.

At Top Talents 2011 Awards Gala, the Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance recognizes athletes that demonstrate leadership, teamwork and technical excellence in their respective sport. The Athletic Awards purpose are to provide assistance to young Tamils in their pursuit of professional sports. CTYA is confident that this award will provide young athletes from the Tamil community the momentum to continue into the world of professional sports. CTYA’s ultimate objective is to increase the representation of the Tamil community in professional sports.

This year’s Top Talents 2011 Soccer Award is being presented to an individual who has shown outstanding talent and commitment in soccer at such a young age. His achievement and dedication to soccer is applaudable. He has played with the Provincial Soccer Team for Team Ontario, Toronto F.C. Academy, and Erin Mills Boys 93A. During his time as a player with Erin Mills Boys 93A, the team won the Youth Soccer League Championship Title in 2007, 08, and 09, and won the Ontario Cup in 06, 07 and 08. He has participated in various soccer tournaments, where he has demonstrated to be an outstanding player. As a player for the Provincial Soccer Team for Team Ontario, he participated in many tournaments across Ontario, and also played internationally. These games include tournaments against Chilean teams during a 2-week Chile tour, French teams during a 2 week France tour and Californian teams during a weeklong tour. Along with his team, he was awarded Provincial National All-Star Runner Up Silver in 2007 and Gold in 2009.  In addition to playing soccer, he has been a mentor and coached younger kids with the first Canadian Professional Soccer Team, Toronto Football Club. Congratulations to this year’s Soccer Winner 2011, Mr. Prasenna Kirupakaran!
