“Thirumanam”

“The month of January holds much cultural and social significance for Tamils; it has not only marks the beginning of a new year, but has traditionally been the month in where most Tamil weddings are held. The Tamils have traditionally been an agrarian society, as a result, the months of plentiful harvest was the months in which resulted in economic output. “Thai” (January) being such a month meant that more families were able to bear the expenses of holding a wedding. ”

Time is ordered.

Heated the borders.

Lined the corners.

Pined on shoulder.

Folds are crisp.

Rosy shining lips.

Eyes caught glimpse.

Hands, palms, fingers,

Neck, cheeks, ears,

Hair, braid, feet,

All decorated precisely.

It’s her time now.

And so is it his.

As two separate lines of lives, are to unite.

As one man is for one woman.

As one woman is for one man.

His promises knotted a round her, three.

Her faithful tears ripple down, happily.

His guidance a round with her, three.

Her hopeful follow accompanies.

They promise each other, three.

Now, Forever and Eternity.
