As a lead up to our Conference in May 2014, the organizers of the Tamil Studies Conference have planned various workshops pertaining to our theme this year: Kudi (to inhabit, settle, or dwell). Join Tamil Studies Conference for a free movie screening of “Katradhu Thamizh”, followed by a discussion.

We hope to facilitate a discussion on topics that the film touches upon, including but not limited to, mental health, gender relations to socio-economic inequalities.

Katradhu Thamizh (A.k.a. Tamil M.A.) (2007): A film about an ordinary young Tamil-postgraduate, who, frustrated with the circumstances and futility of his job, slowly loses his mental balance and becomes a psychopath.
