Tears of Japan

The eternal splinters of lost hope
faith bleeds against its last rope
theres been countless tectonic plate shifts
…love life and laugher missed
roof top flames swallowed by thick black smoke
the last breath of air squeezing passed
asthma….strokes

we look to the sky asking why
no reply
this is a living suicide
alive…
dead alive
the pain thrives to their cries

inside the water, bodies submerged
atop its surface wheels emerge
out of place, out of shape
between these flames, beauty escapes
smiles replaced
we’re too late
so much lost
priceless cost

and theres no one to blame
its a shame, whispers rain
burn your name, shouts the flames
wasted world
tasteless earth
ground up dirt, whats your worth
living plants, living land
living hands, women child man
living animals, from sea and sand
look to the sky, they demand
cry asking why,
still no reply
just a living suicide
dead alive
the pain thrives.

In our hearts, we hold them close
hold their pain, hold their hope
try to understand
We try , but we cant
cuz we’re okay, hearts are full
sympathy won’t let me breathe
so we call on empathy
tears of hope, to wash our eyes clean
So we can see, and we can breathe
to mend their wounds, and misery
bless their souls
bless their land
bless the surviving while we can
not turn our heads away just yet
not while we can reach out,
to help, to change to act.
