Canada has its sixth medal of the Winter Olympics Games. Marianne St-Gelais of Montreal captured a silver medal Wednesday night in the women’s 500 metre short-track event. Canada now has two gold, three silver and one bronze medal at the Vancouver/Whistler Winter Olympics. |

Sri Lanka’s military massacred as many as 40,000 Tamil civilians in the final onslaught against the Liberation Tigers in 2009, according to a former United Nations official with detailed knowledge of events, press reports said. The former United Nations’ spokesperson in Sri Lanka, Gordon Weiss, has resigned from the UN after 14 years and returned home to Australia, where he was interviewed by ABC News. “He’s now free to speak openly about the situation in Sri Lanka, for the first time and does so candidly and unflinchingly,” the media agency said. |

The Saudi religious police launched Thursday a nationwide crackdown on stores selling items that are red or in any other way allude to the banned celebrations of Valentine’s Day, a Saudi official said. Members of the feared religious police were inspecting shops for red roses, heart-shaped products or gifts wrapped in red, and ordering storeowners to get rid of them, the official said. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to reporters. |

Omg, is that my hair? How many times have you said that after you washed your hair, or combed your hair? I know I’ve lost count, but here’s a piece of information, even our preceders in the North have had baldness issues. I thought this was pretty interesting, I mean, the technology that is place today is phenomenal! Thousands of years ago, you could not even know what you looked liked, let alone the people who lived before, but technology has made this possible. So next time you shed hair, blame it on the climate in Canada. (The earwax, I’m not too sure about) |

What are your feelings on Google Streetview? Is it a good thing, or is a bad thing? It’s nice when you’re finding directions, I mean, you actually know what to look out for, and how things look – but too much loss of privacy? Now, if I tell anyone my address, they know exactly where I live, what my house looks like, what my area looks like, I mean, that’s a bit too much information for me to be comfortable with. But, I got to admit, it’s pretty cool nonetheless! (And, I thought with Facebook I lost all my privacy) But, it helped the real estate market, that’s a good thing right? |
