Fragments Exhibit, October 2, 2010 at Scotiabank’s Nuit Blanche

Canadian Centre for International Justice (CCIJ) will be having a contemporary art installation, Fragments as part of this year’s Scotiabank Nuit Blanche. The purpose of this Exhibit is to raise public awareness of significant events that many Canadians have experienced in their lives. CTYA has worked in partnership with several community organizations and CCIJ in obtaining a collection of artifacts that represent the experiences of the victims of the human rights abuses that have occurred in Sri Lanka.

YUTSA’s Membership Cards Reflective of Tamil Identity

The executive committee of Tamil Student’s Association at York University is pleased to announce the new membership cards for 2010 – 2011. The new membership cards for this year features the national symbols of Tamil Eelam, the Tamil Eelam National flag and the national flower, the gloriosa lily along with the Tamil Students Association’s logo.

On October 1st, 2010, at Markham Theatre for Performing Arts Nuream Entertainment presents (Agaththin Raagam) a vocal concert combining classical and western music with accompaniments from prominent artists from Canada, India and Europe. The show will be hosted by Saibruntha Arunthavashanmuganathan, and… she will be accompanied by VVS Murari on the Violin, Priceton.G, on the Keyboard, and Sriparan Yoganathan on the Miruthangam.

Saibruntha Arunthavashanmuganathan was this year’s 2010 CTYA Top Talents Classical Music Award Winner.
