Fragments Exhibit Photos from Scotiabank’s NuitBlanche

Canadian Centre for International Justice (CCIJ) held a contemporary art installation, Fragments as part of this year’s Scotiabank Nuit Blanche. CTYA has worked in partnership with several community organizations and CCIJ in obtaining a collection of artifacts that represent the experiences of the victims of the human rights abuses that have occurred in Sri Lanka.

We have attached some photos of the event for those who were unable to make the viewing.

Remember, tomorrow, October 25th is Election Day. Make sure you get out and vote! Encourage your family and friends to vote as well, this is a chance for the youth community to make an important decision that will affect daily life. Read below on the duties, roles and responsibilities of City Council, and you will see how important choosing a representative is. Make sure you vote, because you have a duty to help create your city into a strong city.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. We hope you reflect on how fortunate you are, and give thanks to the people in your lives who have helped you in any way!

Why Should I Vote? Voting is your responsibility to the city. You have a voice, be heard, everyone’s listening.

As all Torontonians may have noticed, Municipal Elections are taking place on October 25. Advance polling has already began, and campaigns are at their peak. This is the time for Torontonians to choose who will represent them, as Mayor, City Councilor, and School Board Trustee. These are important positions in Toronto, and as citizens of Canada, and residents of Toronto, we have a duty to choose people who represent Toronto, and will work towards building Toronto into a better city.

YUTSA Flag Football Tournament

A message from YUTSA (York University Tamil Student’s Association)

So, did you guys know that Michael Vick is back?! For those of you who don’t know who he is, here is a chance to find out! YUTSA will be hosting a flag football tournament on Friday October 15th 2010 at 9:00 a.m. bright and early! It will be played with 6 players on each team, and at least one female player is needed to play at all times.
