Regenesis: new birth, renewal. A book drive will be held at Scarborough Civic Centre on June 1 starting at 3:00 p.m., in memory of the burning of the Jaffna Library on the nights of May 31st and June 1st, 1981. All books will be donated to the SickKids Hospital. |

This journey began in 2014 and with the support of individuals, community groups and organizations, we are entering our second year hosting the “Manathil Uruthi Vendum” workshop and with everyone’s continuous support, we hope to work towards fostering knowledge and improving collaboration both within the Tamil community and mainstream. The battle to crown the new Tamileelam Challenge Cup Champion is fast arriving as the Athletics Council of CTYA will be hosting the 2015 Volleyball Tamil Eelam Challenge Cup. The Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) strongly disagrees with the latest UN decision to defer the release of the investigation into the mass crimes committed by the Sri Lankan state against the Tamil people. The UN has continued to fail the Tamil community in search for accountability through international measures, as this deferral is a direct denial of human rights and justice. |

On February 10th, 2015, the Northern Provincial Council (NPC), with overwhelming support, passed a resolution calling for an international investigation into the ongoing genocide perpetrated by the Sri Lankan Government against Eelam Tamils. The Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) welcomes this resolution as a meaningful move towards justice and the freedom of the Eelam Tamil Nation. |

While this disturbance may be the latest act committed by the Sri Lankan military forces against the Tamil population, it illustrates the need for the Canadian government, international community and the United Nations to seriously consider the conditions faced by the Tamil population in Sri Lanka. CTYA along with its members urge the democratic establishments around the world to immediately demand Sri Lankan government to remove military presence in the Tamil populated areas of North and East of the island. |

At CTYA, we are excited to announce the start of Robotic classes for this winter. The Robotics competition was a big success as an event. To build on that success, we are introducing classes that will be more focused on math and science as used in robotics – in a classroom setting. |
