Six Exciting Volunteer Internship Positions at CASSA

A few internship opportunities from CASSA. For any changes, or information, please contact CASSA directly (contact information below).

Dear all:

CASSA (Council of Agencies Serving South Asians) has created six internship opportunities for current post secondary students and recent graduates to help them get “a foot in the door” when it comes to job search in the fields of social services, policy, community development and research. This internship program is being created to assist youth in gaining valuable experience, skills and networks as well as to give them the opportunities to help build the infrastructure of CASSA to do social and economic justice work in Ontario.

The six positions open for internship are for the following roles:

– developing and implementing a marketing strategy for CASSA and its projects (Marketing)

– assisting with volunteer management efforts of CASSA (Volunteer Management)

– coordinating a few areas of our Health Equity Strategy for South Asians (Health Equity)

– supporting the efforts related to South Asian Heritage Month (Heritage, History and Identity)

– coordinating the efforts of Racism Free Ontario Campaign (Anti-Racism, Public Education)

– coordinating various fundraising events (Fundraising)

If you are interested in taking on a 100 to 200 hour internship (number of hours and the duration of the placement can be decided based on the internship duties and the availability of the student), please email your resume and cover letter by November 9th, 2011, 1pm to hr@cassa.on.ca

There will be an honourarium provided at the completion of the internship duties. The internship needs to be completed within the period from November 15th until May 15th (upto 6 months as maximum). The number of hours per week can be negotiated based on the availability of the intern.

During the internship, the interns will be coached and mentored by CASSA’s existing staff and will be provided informal and formal training opportunities. A certificate of recognition also will be presented to interns who complete their internship successfully.

Thanks,

Sincerely,

Neethan Shan
