Poster entry must have the following information:
On a 3 x 5 index card taped to the back:
1. Title of work Attn:
2. Student’s full name and grade
3. Student’s home mailing address
4. Student’s home phone number or cell number
5. School’s name and address
6. A brief description of the depicted subject matter
Poster Contest Guidelines:
• Competition is open to ALL Canadians
• Poster size MUST NOT EXCEED 11” X 17”
• Poster must be on paper; Collage is accepted ONLY IF IT IS ORIGINAL
ARTWORK (magazine cutouts or previously published material not accepted)
• Poster medium can be watercolor, acrylic, oil, pen, pencil, chalk, marker or original digital images or photography
• Poster must be signed by the student at the bottom right corner
• Poster will be judged on quality of the work, originality and creativity of the depiction reflecting the theme
• Only one entry per person

Prizes: The winners will be awarded $200 each and their posters will be used as part of the official promotional materials for Tamil Heritage Month 2011
Division I: K to Grade 5
Division II: Grade 6 – 8
Division III: Grade 9 -12
Division IV: Above Grade 12 (For all ages)

Winners will be notified via phone call during the week of January 27th, 2010 and further details of the awards presentation will be provided by this time. Winners are invited to attend the final event to be held on Sunday, January 31st, 2010. All winning entries become the property of the Tamil Heritage Month Planning Committee. The committee has the right to reproduce or publish the artwork in any medium for current or future use in educational materials and programs. Selection of winners by the judging panel is final.
