THE KAVARI KALA MANRAM

The Kavari Kala Manram is a cultural and drama group formed by youth from the Pandapattai/Kattupulam area (near Chullipuram) and from the Robert and Jennifer Homes in Vaddukoddai. What started as a recreational activity, within a year has blossomed into a well knit team of skilled actors and singers who are able to entertain and educate the local community through drama. After appropriate training and preparation, the work of KKM moved to providing psycho-social guidance through drama and music. These youngsters in the KKM have themselves persevered their way through stigma, displacement, deprivation and the trauma of conflict. This shared experience is of great value in the support they wish to provide to the unfortunate people of Vanni.
