The Organization
Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) is a federal, not-for-profit organization. Founded in 2009, CTYA strives to educate and empower the youth in order to prepare them as transitional leaders of society. CTYA is the largest combination of youth associations and groups nationwide with Tamil heritage, culture and language backgrounds and consists of five independent councils: Arts and Culture, Athletics, Education and Career Development, Human Rights Advocacy and Tamil Nation Development. CTYA has undergone significant growth within its first three years of operation and gained recognition from the community for its initiatives. The alliance is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, who have committed much time and dedication towards the growth of the organization.
CTYA values the contributions made by its volunteers and is currently looking for a dynamic, innovative individual to take on employment with the organization for the new position of Prospect Development Coordinator.
Job Summary
The position Prospect Development Coordinator will identify and engage potential prospects for the development and sustainability of the organization.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
● Identify and research new prospects utilizing a variety of sources including commercial online services, Internet, databases, newspapers and fundraising publications
● Compile information from multiple sources into reports and presentations
● Manage research workflow and data entry of information related to prospect from research
● Monitor and communicate events, news and issues that affect CTYA’s fundraising strategies and the philanthropic environment
● Supervise and coordinate volunteers and/or interns, as required
● Develop a continuous process for establishing funds

Education:
● Post-secondary education
● Experience in research and analytics or related experience
Skills and Attributes:
● Understanding of the research tools utilized and fundamentals involved with performing fundraising research
● Analytical, problem solving, planning, and organizational abilities
● Exceptional time and project management skills
● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to write concise research documents
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and attention to detail
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office
● Experience in community-based fund development and an understanding of fundraising practices is an asset
● Ability to maintain discretion regarding confidential and sensitive information
