Top Talents Nomination Submission Date Closed

The Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) is very excited for our 2nd annual Top Talents Awards Gala. The nomination deadline for the awards was on August 15th, 2011. With the submissions that we received, there is a great reflection on the large volume of talent that exists within the Tamil community. We thank all of the applicants for taking the time to fill out and submit your nomination packages. We are currently confirming that the application requirements are met and by August 26th, we will be contacting successful applicants.

We will be accepting submissions of poems and articles up until August 30th, 2011 and the top ten submissions will be chosen to be published, in which writers will be recognized for their work. Theme of writing (poem, article or opinion piece) should be relevant to success, dreams, talent and goals.

These young girls’ lives were unjustly stripped away from them, in a senseless attack aimed at undermining the progress of Tamil children. Despite being in a “humanitarian zone,” Sencholai Orphanage was attacked. According to the Fourth Geneva Convention of War, which outlines the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, civilians are not to be targeted.

UTSC TSA's Annual Talent Show and Fundraiser : Nivarana Alaikal 2011

University of Toronto Scarborough’s Tamil student’s Association will be hosting Nivarana Alaikal 2011, an annual talent show and fundraiser. The event will be taking place at the Chinese Cultural Centre located at 5183 Sheppard Avenue East, just near the intersection of Sheppard and Markham road. The show starts at 5 PM and ends at 10 PM.
