Call Out for CTYA Board of Directors

Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) is seeking dynamic individuals who are responsible, enthusiastic and creative to join our Board of Directors. We are seeking for candidates that can utilize their experience, skills, and passion to empower youth to provide new innovative ideas and enhance the delivery of our services.

CTYA will be holding elections for Board of Directors at our next Annual General Meeting in September 2012.

Isai War 2012: A fierce competition!

Five contestants, Ezzy, SM Ram, Ramesh Selvarajah, SE Boyz and Dynasty Naren, took part in this online music competition. Participants were asked to submit an introduction song of their choice for the first month of the competition, followed by creating and submitting musical pieces based on the themes passion, family/friendship and freedom for the following months.

Imaging having to run away from your own country. Leaving everything that mattered behind and the people you’ve met and grew to love throughout your lives. Hiding from strangers who may burn you alive, rape you, even toss your babies into a pit of fire. That’s the ordeal our parents encountered. We should honor them by remembering Black July and the agonizing experiences and sacrifices they underwent.

Thaalam "I Believe" Contest Winners - Jamaica Tickets!

Enjoying your summer so far? Two individuals sure will be. CTYA Fans were asked to comment on the People’s Choice Video of the team that they believed would win the Thaalam 2012 People’s Choice Video Award. The names of the individuals who commented on these videos prior to the day of Thaalam 2012 were put into a draw and two lucky winners were drawn by our young Supersinger stars, Magisha and Sarika at CTR’s Natchathira Vizha.

Thaalam 2012: Heat or Thunder? And the winner is...

The results of the game between Miami Heat and OKC Thunder on Tuesday, June 19 were forecasted by the fans of Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) on Facebook. As part of Thaalam 2012, CTYA Fans were encouraged to predict the winner of the game on the CTYA Fan Page. The names of those correctly predicting the results were to be entered into a draw to win a complimentary ticket to Thaalam 2012. Arts and Culture Council will be presenting the winner with three complimentary movie tickets.
