Ace that Exam!

Stress is a huge part of university and college life, especially during exam time. But it is something that we all have to learn to deal with in life. This may shock some, but stress does NOT have to take over your life during finals. Here are just a few tips that may help you ace all your exams without you dreading your life:

Tip 1: Be Prepared Early

Most students stress themselves out by studying everything at the last minute and this leads to exam anxiety. Set up a study schedule at least two weeks before your first exam. Planning ahead and studying will assist you to avoid cramming and make your life much easier.

Tip 2: Eat Healthy and Exercise

Many students turn towards junk food that is high in sugar during exam time. The sugar will eventually make you crash, so try eating some healthy snacks such as fruits and vegetables that will keep you alert. Take a break while studying and get some form of exercise, even if it is just a ten minute power walk, it will help you keep calm and more focused.

Tip 3: Prioritize

Learn to prioritize your time and learn to say no to people that want to take up your time. Your friends may want to go out shopping or attend a party, but if you do go, you will probably put off studying for that entire day. It is important to take breaks, but it’s also very important to prioritize your time during exams and focus on studying. Resist the urge and avoid distractions. There will always be plenty of time to have fun after acing all your exams.

Tip 4: Sleep Well

Regular sleep is very important and is essential in controlling stress. Remember that both your body and brain need rest so that they can function well.  Try to follow a regular sleeping pattern and get plenty of sleep the night before your final exam.

Tip 5: Be Confident

If you have studied all you can to the best of your ability then be confident! You have prepared as much as you can and now it is time to ace that final exam. Convince yourself that you are going to do well and go into the exam with a positive attitude.
