Special Congratulations to 22-year old Menan Nagulendran for scoring the historic first goal for Tamileelam, and the subsequent 2 goals! Menan dedicates his hat-trick to: First goal four our Maaveerar, second goal to victims of genocide & oppression and third to all the supporters!! After scoring his goals, Menan runs straight into the fans to celebrate!!!!
Just after the match, Menon said, “I am really humbled by all the messages of support and congratulations. This is has always been not about us the players, or the team, but about our nation. I feel so proud to have been given the opportunity to play for my nation, and I dedicate my hat-trick to them. The first goal to the great Maaveerar of our nation, the second to all the Tamils who have been victims of genocide and are still oppressed today, the last goal to all the fans of the Tamil Eelam football team.”
Fans all around the world were proudly supporting Team Tamileelam, and were anxiously awaiting the historic first goal for Tamileelam.
Participating in VIVA cup was a historic milestone for Tamileelam. Supporters were active on Facebook and Twitter, all sharing their excitement and enthusiasm for the win!

I remember this one summer, there was this teammate of mine who vowed to improve his game because being good wasn’t good enough, being in the top 10 wasn’t good enough.
He wanted to be the absolute best.
Whenever I would pick him up or drop him off. He would be doing keep ups or dribbling the ball. You honestly could not separate the ball from his feet. I think he slept with it as well. His transformation from a slight above average tamil player to the ELITE WORLD CLASS player is absolutely amazing.
He has earned every achievement that has been bestowed upon him on the soccer pitch.
To say I WAS A WITNESS to this development is an Honour.
