Soccer has been in existence for over 2000 years, soccer, was first reported being played in China by the Han Dynasty. Some recorded facts also show evidence that the early Greeks and Romans also engaged in soccer for fun. But it was not until 1863 that soccer gained professionalism and marked a transition for the sport. Soccer became a popular phenomena in England. It was reported that soldiers would miss archery practice in order to watch and play soccer! Soccer was such a heated game during this time, that when competition got tough, many times crowds broke out in fights! In 1863, 11 London clubs and schools met to create common rules to control the soccer games among themselves. Through this meeting, the Football Association was created, and modern soccer as we know it was born.
