Tamil Canadian History Documentation Initiative (Brown Canada Project Subsection)

On November 18th, 2011, CASSA launched the “Brown Canada” project, which will be documenting and celebrating the history of South Asians in Canada during the 20th Century. This project will document our struggles, our accomplishments, our milestones, our growth and our resistance.

As part of the documentation process, CASSA is reaching out to various communities within South Asian Canadians, including but not limited to Sikh Canadians, Pakistani Canadians, Bangladeshi Canadians, Indo-Caribbean Canadians and Tamil Canadians.

Tamil Canadians have encountered many struggles and achievement in their pursuit for a better life in Canada. It is vital for us to document our struggles, successes and achievements in Canada and to showcase this to the broader community. We will need the support of many of you to make this project a success.

You are invited to an information session for the Tamil History Documentation initiative. Date: Tuesday January 17th, 2012
Time: 6pm-8pm

Venue: Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA) 2401 Eglinton Ave. East, Unit 212

Please come out to support this project, give your input and share your experiences.

Sincerely,

Krishanthy Shanmuganathan
