What are your feelings on Google Streetview? Is it a good thing, or is a bad thing? It’s nice when you’re finding directions, I mean, you actually know what to look out for, and how things look – but too much loss of privacy? Now, if I tell anyone my address, they know exactly where I live, what my house looks like, what my area looks like, I mean, that’s a bit too much information for me to be comfortable with. But, I got to admit, it’s pretty cool nonetheless! (And, I thought with Facebook I lost all my privacy) But, it helped the real estate market, that’s a good thing right?

A P.E.I. real estate agent is excited about the opportunities now that Google Street View is available for the province.
Google launched a major expansion of the service this week with new coverage in every province and including long stretches of highway.
But it is the urban features of Street View that most interests Joel Ives, owner of Century 21 in Charlottetown. Ives told CBC News the mapping software is particularly useful for people from off-Island looking for a home on P.E.I.
“It allows people to show what is around the house that is for sale in the neighbourhood,” said Ives.
“You’re able to look at the houses on each side, across the street, and what the full neighbourhood offers. Parks, and other things, and also the quality of housing that could be your new neighbours.”
The Century 21 website now has a direct link to the Google Street View application.
Google had come under fire for privacy concerns surrounding the service, and addressed those issues by blurring out the faces of people in the photos, as well as licence plates on vehicles.
