Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) will be hosting their second annual Top Talents Awards Gala on September 18th, 2011. The purpose of Top Talent`s is to recognize and reward youth who have excelled in their respective fields. All winners will receive an award of $500 along with recognition on the CTYA blog, CTYA website and community and social media. Award recipients will not only be encouraged by the award and recognition but they also become leaders and role models in the community.
At Top Talents Awards Gala, CTYA will be awarding an Achievement Award to an Outstanding Youth Volunteer. Volunteering in the community for charities, organizations, and community based groups is crucial in order to strengthen our community. By being a volunteer it is a great way youth can bring change to their community and get their issues and voice heard! By rewarding outstanding volunteers CTYA hopes to encourage youth to continue to give their time and talent towards a good cause.
Applicants must meet these requirements in order to qualify for the youth volunteer award:
– Individual will be recognized for his/her meaningful volunteerism with local charities, organizations or community based groups.
– The individual strives to improve the quality life of others with a commitment to make a difference.
– In an additional summary, explain what volunteerism means to you, including how you have made a positive impact in others life while improving developing yourself as an individual.
– Must have volunteered at a minimum of one of CTYA’s projects or events.
