Rathika Sitsabaiesan, a 29-year old Tamil youth was elected to Canadian Parliament this past Monday. Her achievement marks the first female and Tamil member who has been elected to Canadian Federal Government.
Rathika has demonstrated what Tamil youth are capable of when they continue to persevere. Tamil youth have increasingly shown leadership, and have embarked on many challenges in Canadian society. Canadian Tamil Youth have proven themselves to be ambitious, responsible and socially active members of society.
Many Tamil youth, like Rathika, have made their way to Canada at a young age, and have thus had access to many educational opportunities which have moved their career opportunities to greater heights. Tamil youth are excelling in various different fields and industries, and their contributions to society have been invaluable.
We congratulate Rathika on her success and encourage Tamil youth to recognize their specific skills and talents and utilize them in order to succeed in their own respective career goals.
