CASSA is inviting creative minds in Ontario to participate in our second annual South Asian Heritage Month poster competition.

SAHM POSTER GUIDELINES

·         Contestants must be 13 years of age or over. Age groups are divided into: 13-15, 16-18, and 19 and up.

·         Posters can be no larger than 8.5 inches by 11 inches.

·         All entries must have a separate title page with contestant’s name, address, school (if applicable), phone number and email address.

·         Posters must be the sole work of contestant.

·         Posters must be reflective of the theme set for each age group.

·         Posters must be suitable for public display, and not be offensive or discriminatory in nature.

·         Each contestant is limited to one entry.

·         Entries become the property of CASSA upon submission.

·         Posters may be used in whole or part for various promotional activities of South Asian Heritage Month

·         All entries must be submitted to CASSA no later than 4pm on April 20^th, 2011.

·         All contestants MUST submit their poster as a digital/electronic format to sahm@cassa.on.ca

·         You can also submit your entries in person at CASSA’s office (2401 Eglinton Avenue East, Unit 212, Scarborough, ON, M1K 2N8) no later than April 20^th, 2011 by 4pm.

·         Contestants are encouraged to submit a brief description (maximum 100 words) of their poster and why they believe it reflects their given theme.

·         All decisions of the judges interpreting the rules and/or selecting the winners shall be final.

2011 Themes for the Poster Competition:

Age group (13 – 15): Our Heritage, Our Identity, Our Pride

Age group (16 – 18 & 19 and up): Contestants can pick one of the following three themes:

South Asians Canadians Breaking Barriers and Building Canada

South Asian Canadians – Proud Identity

Remembering the Struggles and Celebrating the Victories of South Asian Canadians
