To celebrate the richness of Tamil language and its literature
- To celebrate the traditions, arts and culture of Tamils in the world
- To educate Canadians of all backgrounds about the language, traditions and history of the Tamil people
- To highlight the achievements of Tamils in various fields both in the past and present
- To advance the growth and prosperity of Tamils
Poster Contest Guidelines:
- Competition is open to ALL Canadians Age of 16+.
- Poster size MUST NOT EXCEED 11” X 17”.
- Poster must be in digital format; in JPEG. & PDF. File.
- Poster will be judged on quality of the work, originality and creativity of the depiction reflecting the theme.
- Only one entry per person.
Poster entry must have the following information:
- Title
- Articles Full Name and Grade
- Articles Home Mailing Address
- Articles Home Phone Number or Cell Number
- A Brief Description of the Depicted Subject Matter
Deadline: Wednesday, January 26rd, 2011.
- All digital format posters must be emailed to arts.culture@ctya.org.
- A soft copy of the digital format poster must be submitted at the following address:

Prize:
The winner will be awarded $500 and their poster will be used as part of the official promotional materials for Tamil Heritage Month 2011.
Winner will be notified via phone call during the week of January 3rd, 2011 and further details of the awards presentation will be provided by this time. Winners are invited to attend the final event which is to be announced. Winning entry becomes the property of the Tamil Heritage Month Planning Committee. The committee has the right to reproduce or publish the artwork in any medium for current or future use in educational materials and programs. Selection of winner by the judging panel is final.
