The Athletic Council of Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) will be hosting the highly anticipated 2nd annual TAMILEELAM Challenge Cup Soccer on Sunday, September 05th at L’Amoreaux Sports Complex. The tournaments will begin with opening ceremonies at 8:00am and end with closing ceremonies in the evening.
Canadian Tamil Youth Alliance (CTYA) in partnership with Canadian Tamil Sports Association (CTSA) will be hosting TAMILEELAM Challenge Cup – Soccer 2010 to showcase the athletic talents of the Tamil youth, while encouraging healthy competition and unity amongst our youth. The event will highlight and reward youth who have demonstrated excellence in the sport with awards and recognition. Furthermore, the event will encourage other Tamil youth across Canada to strive for greater achievement while providing them with a continuous avenue to be recognized for their athletic abilities on a grand scale. Last year this event brought together 35 soccer teams, hundreds of soccer fans, sponsors, and members from the Tamil and non-Tamil community, all of whom shared a common interest.
This year’s tournaments will be held for soccer teams in the age groups under 6, under 8, under 10, under 12, under 14, under 16, and for open men. All matches will be played by the rules of the Canadian Tamil Sports Association. Team registration deadline is Saturday August 28, 2010. No exceptions will be allowed.
